Project Investigator

Alison G. Kwok Project Investigator University of Oregon	Alison G. Kwok Associate Professor Alison Kwok teaches studio, ECS courses, in addition to case study and teaching methods seminars at the University of Oregon. Her research interests are in design for the tropics, thermal comfort passive cooling, building performance, and curriculum development. She was the principal graduate research assistant on the Vital Signs Curriculum Project since its inception in 1992 through 1997. Active in professional service, Kwok served as treasurer and is a current board member on the Architectural Research Centers Consortium, president of the Society of Building Science Educators, and paper chair for numerous international conferences. Under her direction, two teams of students from Cornell University placed 1st and 3rd with their entries in the 1998 Vital Signs Case Study Competition. Kwok has won teaching awards at Cornell University and in prior years' teaching in Honolulu and has also received funding from ASHRAE, a one-year planning grant from FIPSE, and the Heiwa Nakajima Peace Fellowship for Research to lead case study workshops with graduate students at Yokohama National University.
